Ok, this one is a bit unusual :-) Sometimes I get bored making hundreds of the same products month after month. So, at the end of my chocolate making run on the spur of the moment, I sometimes create something different, like using different moulds, mixing flavours I don’t usually mix etc. Sometimes it looks yummy, sometimes not so much. I’ll let you be the judge. What you see on the picture is a unique “off-the-menu” product. And as it comes without the fancy packaging, it’s priced slightly cheaper than packaged bars.
This week I created these little button-like sweets filled with hazelnuts and prunes. A great gift of dark artisan chocolate for somebody who is health conscious and likes sweet treats as well. As with all our products, there are no refined sugars or anything artificial in this at all. All the sweetness comes from our local Devon honey. This particular batch was made with Neil Graham’s honey, an experienced beekeeper living in the same coastal town as us Teignmouth. As always, I make sure not to heat both our main ingredients (cacao and honey) above 38◦C during the chocolate making process to preserve their pure raw state. This gives the intense taste and aroma, not to mention all the health benefits not being destroyed by excessive cooking.
The dried fruit and nuts are completely free from preservatives and added sugar. A truly guilt free treat that is not only delicious but is bursting with vitamins, minerals and nutrients.
Bon Appetit,
Anna
